40,000 SF Office/R&D Space Lease Completed by Hunneman for Howland Development

January 14, 2020
205 Lowell Street, Wilmington MA

BOSTON–The North Suburban team of Hunneman recently completed a 40,000 SF lease on behalf of Howland Development at 205 Lowell Street in Wilmington. Executive Vice President, Chris Curley, Vice President, Ken Oppenheim and Vice President, Michael Allen worked in collaboration with Howland Development’s Jamie McManus. The Tenant, AeroVironment Inc., was represented by Cresa’s Joe Doyle and Kurtis Gibbs.

The space leased was formerly occupied by Textron and will serve as the Northeast out post for AeroVironement, which is Headquartered in Simi Valley, California. AeroVironment Inc. is a leading developer of unmanned aircraft systems. Today AeroVironment is the industry expert and largest supplier of small, unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) to the Pentagon and to dozens of allied nations.

“We are thrilled to have been able to identify and secure such a high-quality tenant to occupy the vacant space, of which we’ve only been marketing since late summer. This is a testament to the incredible resurgence of the Route 128/I-93 North Flex market over the past two years. If demand continues to be as healthy, I think we will start to see more speculative development in 2020,” said Hunneman’s Chris Curley.

Howland development owns and operates over 1.5 million RSF of Office, R&D, and Industrial space in the Route 93 North submarket. With the completion of the 40,000 SF lease with AeroViroment at 205 Lowell Street, Howland is fully leased throughout their portfolio, and are seeking new development opportunities in the Greater Boston region.

“We are excited to welcome the dynamic growing company of AeroViroment to 205 Lowell Street. The Hunneman team was instrumental in identifying a suitable tenant to fit the value of the space, in its location, layout and current furnishings.,” said Jamie McManus, Asset Manager at Howland Development.
