Torrington Properties Hires Seasoned CRE Vet Norris as New CFO

​BOSTON — With Plans to continue its aggressive growth both in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, the real estate investment company, Torrington Properties has added a pivotal veteran to its C-level management team. The home-grown Boston-based development and investment firm, founded by Jay Bisognano has tapped Mike Norris, formerly of Marcus Partners, as its Chief Financial Officer. Norris officially joined the company in early March.

“We are thrilled to have Mike join the Torrington team as CFO,” Torrington Chief Executive Officer Jay Bisognano said. “Mike is a well-respected real estate professional who has worked on multi-billion-dollar real estate teams with complex finance and accounting mechanisms. Having him lead our financial operations will accelerate our growth trajectory and strategy while elevating the experience for Torrington’s stakeholders.”

During his 25-year career, Norris managed the accounting, tax preparation, reporting, and compliance of major commercial real estate firms in the Boston market. Most recently, Norris served as chief compliance officer and director of accounting at Marcus Partners in Boston where he worked as part of the finance and accounting team for 12 years. In that role, he assisted in the acquisition, disposition, development, and financing of over $2 billion in real estate. Prior to Marcus Partners, Norris served as the director of financial and portfolio reporting at New Boston Fund in Boston.

Norris is a licensed certified public accountant in Massachusetts and is an active member of the American Institute and Massachusetts Society of Certified Public Accountants. He earned a Master of Business Administration from the Carroll School of Management at Boston College and his Bachelor of Science in Accounting at Bentley University in Waltham, Massachusetts.
