NAI Norwood Fills 6,000SF at Exeter NH Retail Center EXETER, NH
January 06, 2012
EXETER, NH — Delivering a dual boost of good news to the Exeter Commons Shopping Center, NAI Norwood broker Chris McMahon has leased more than 6,000 sf to be occupied by Exeter Paint and G&T Flooring By Design. The two locally owned businesses have shared retail space on Portsmouth Avenue in Stratham for the past 10 years, McMahon details in a press release issued this week on the two signings.
The opening for the companies to relocate to Exeter Commons came about when a medical supply firm there opted to shutter its large unit. McMahon relays that provided “a perfect opportunity for these two complementary businesses to occupy the vacant space and add to the shopping center’s unique tenant mix,” a roster that includes the likes of Dollar Tree, Margaritas Restaurant and a free-standing Rite Aid pharmacy. Negotiations between the new tenants and landlord REL Commons LLC led to “a great space” that the retailers can share and still operate independently, an arrangement that McMahon says required “a creative approach” on behalf of all parties involved. The two tenants are expected to be open in the unit by April 1st, says McMahon, who operates from NAI Norwood’s Portsmouth office.
An affiliate of NAI Global, NAI Norwood is active throughout the New Hampshire Seacoast, offering expertise in development, investments, leases and sales, as well as business brokerage. The firm is leasing agent for Exeter Commons, a 96,000-sf plaza at 75 Portsmouth Ave., a main retail corridor also known as Route 108. The asset was overhauled in 2006.
