DPM Guides Communispace In 82,000-SF HQ Relocation

BOSTON—A multi-faceted assignment helping online services group Communispace Inc. relocate to the Hub’s new Atlantic Wharf office tower on Boston Harbor has been completed, report officials at Diversified Project Management. Owned by Boston Properties, the 31-story, 750,000-sf tower that opened last summer drew Communispace from its previous home in Watertown.
Occupancy of the 82,000-sf headquarters follows an extensive effort by Newton-based DPM to help in the relocation, a program that began with site selection to identify the best situation for long-range growth. Once Atlantic Wharf was tabbed, DPM engaged design, construction and specialty consultants plus delivered evaluation of cost estimates and programming documents as fit up commenced. Upon coordinating FF&E selection and installation, DPM capped off the process by coordinating moving services for its client.
“I could not have managed this project without the expertise and dedication of the Diversified team,” Communispace CFO Gary Arena says in a press release celebrating his group’s new venue. The headquarters sports open, collaborative workstations, an “articulating stair,” conference and training facilities and a gathering space known as “Fenway Park West” that emulates the beloved home of the Boston Red Sox. DPM says the layout delivers a “successful, talented and playful environment that is representative of the organization.” DPM President Bob Keeley terms working with Communispace through the lengthy assignment has been “a privilege” due to the staff’s “creative energy” and varied talents. “Their sustained growth is a testament not only to their successful business platform, but to the strong team culture they have created,” says Keeley, also praising the DPM contingent orchestrating the “seamless transition” to Atlantic Wharf, which is at 290 Congress St. on the edge of Fort Point Channel.
DPM Project Executive Pat Forbes joined Senior Project Manager Rhonda Thomas and Assistant Project Manager Anthony Monteiro as key professionals advising Communispace. In addition to CRE brokers Michael Brown and Ted Lyon of Cassidy Turley overseeing the leasing duties, DPM notes the result required the efforts of numerous professionals and service providers, including SGA Architects for designing the space and Structure Tone as construction manager. AHA Engineers, Office Environments of New England (OENE), AFD, sign specialist Poyant and Spry Moving all played key roles in the successful result, according to DPM.
