Veteran CRE Banker Mead Joins East Cambridge Savings to Lead Commercial Team

CAMBRIDGE — East Cambridge Savings Bank today announced the addition of Steven J. Mead as Senior Vice President and Senior Commercial Banking Officer, effective Oct. 6. In this key role, Mead will report directly to President and CEO Timothy E. Bombard and will be responsible for the strategic oversight of the bank’s commercial banking activities, including commercial real estate, construction, commercial and industrial (C&I) financing, and small business lending efforts within the Greater Boston and Massachusetts market. Mead is highly regarded in the regional financial community, bringing to the role more than two decades of commercial banking leadership experience, most notably from his prior role as Chief Commercial Banking Officer at Cambridge Trust Company.

Mead graduated from Skidmore College with a bachelor’s degree in business administration and holds a Massachusetts Bankers Certificate from the New England School for Financial Studies at Babson University. He has been an active youth baseball, hockey, and soccer coach, as well as a board member of Bedford Babe Ruth and Lexington-Bedford Youth Hockey. Mead resides in Bedford, Mass., with his wife and two college-aged children.
