Rockland Trust Appoints two Bankers to Boston Commercial Team

​Boston — Rockland Trust recently announced the appointment of two New Employees to its Commercial Banking Team. Industry veteran John Doucette was hired as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Middle Market and Specialized Lending. In this role, Doucette will oversee the Middle Market and Specialized Lending divisions, focusing on driving portfolio growth, optimizing lending strategies, and strengthening relationships within target sectors.

“John brings an impressive depth of expertise in managing commercial banking portfolios, driving new business development, and leading high-performing teams,” said James Rizzo, Chief Commercial Banking Officer at Rockland Trust. “His leadership will be crucial in advancing our commercial banking efforts as we continue to expand our position in the Middle Market Commercial Banking marketplace.”

Before joining Rockland Trust, Doucette held several senior leadership positions at M&T Bank, including Executive Vice President and Head of Commercial Banking in Massachusetts. He holds a bachelor’s degree in finance from Bentley University and completed the Fleet Financial Group Commercial Credit Training Program.

Charles Testa has been promoted to Assistant Vice President, Commercial Banking Officer for the Boston Commercial Banking Center. In this role, Testa will be responsible for growing Commercial Real Estate along with Commercial and Industrial relationships across Greater Boston.

Testa has been with Rockland Trust since 2020, where he started within the Retail Banking Division as a Relationship Banker. Following this, he began working within the bank’s Commercial Credit underwriting program and most recently supported the Boston Lending Center as a Portfolio Manager for several years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting from Bridgewater State University.
