Boston — Office brokerage ace Michael Joyce has joined CBRE as Vice Chairman, the highest rank for Advisory & Transaction professionals within the company. Based in CBRE’s downtown Boston office, Joyce joins the urban leasing team and will focus on both investor and occupier leasing, according to a release.

“With more than 25 years in commercial real estate, Mike brings a wealth of experience to our office leasing team,” said Michael Affronti, Executive Managing Director for CBRE’s Greater Boston Advisory Services business. “Mike is an office and industrial leasing powerhouse with strong relationships from his decades-long career. He will partner with our capital markets team to leverage those relationships while mentoring and growing our urban leasing team.”

Before joining CBRE, Joyce was a Vice Chair of Cushman & Wakefield’s Boston leasing practice. The move represents Joyce’s second stint with CBRE, where he had been employed before departing to co-found Richards Barry Joyce in 2001. That firm was subsequently acquired by Transwestern in 2013, where he remained as a Partner for five years.

Joyce has advised and represented prominent corporations throughout his career, specializing in the leasing of office space for many of Boston’s most prestigious landlords, investors, and tenants including the Boston Celtics, Boston Consulting Group, and Puma, among numerous others. Joyce is a member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. Outside of commercial real estate, he is a member of the International Rett Syndrome Foundation, a trustee emeritus of his alma mater Providence College as well as a former member of its Varsity Athletic Board, Chair of Buildings & Property Group, and former President and board member of Boston Presidents Council.
