Nations Largest Halloween Retailer Inks 10K SF with Hamilton Co. In Medford

Boston — A sprawling former CVS pharmacy at 55 Riverside Ave. in Medford has found a new, if temporary, tenant. The Hamilton Company announced a 10,000-square-foot commercial lease with Spirit Halloween, filling the vacant retail space just in time for the autumn shopping rush.

The lease took effect on July 15, and the seasonal storefront officially opened its doors to shoppers on August 6.

Jameson Brown, Chairman and CEO of The Hamilton Company, praised the incoming tenant’s longevity. “They have an impressive history that spans more than four decades as America’s leading Halloween-themed retailer,” Brown said.

Carol Rash, Director of Commercial Property & Asset Management for The Hamilton Company, noted the shifting retail landscape. “Seasonal retail or ‘pop-up’ stores are growing total revenue and market presence at a significant pace each year.”

Founded in 1983 and based in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, Spirit Halloween operates as North America’s largest seasonal Halloween chain. The company is deploying more than 1,550 temporary storefronts this year across shopping centers and strip malls. The Medford location will stock the brand’s signature inventory of costumes, home décor, accessories, and proprietary animatronics.
