Kerr Named New Managing Director of Development for Greystar

​BOSTON–The Charleston, South Carolina based investment, development, and management of high-quality rental housing communities, Greystar, recently hired Gary Kerr as Managing Director of Development. Per a prepared release, Kerr will be responsible for managing new development projects in New England and expanding the development pipeline for Greystar in Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont.

“Gary brings a breadth of experience to his new role at Greystar, in addition to a keen understanding of the market,” said Todd Wigfield, Senior Managing Director of Development for Greystar.

Kerr most recently served as Managing Director of Real Estate for Boston-bassed Cronin Development, leading residential development in the Seaport district. He joined Cronin from Tishman Speyer, where he was a Senior Director overseeing mixed-use developments in Boston. Kerr has been active in the industry since 2005 and has managed large-scale, ground-up developments for various asset classes. He previously held roles in developing real estate in multiple European cities.

Kerr will be supported by a local Boston team that includes recently hired Morgan Pierson, Director of Development, and Ryan Souls, Development Associate for Greystar. The team will be based at the Greystar Boston office which is relocating to a larger space at One Federal Street.

Kerr has an MBA from Boston College and is an active member of Urban Land Institute, US Green Building Council, NAIOP, RICS and United Way of Massachusetts.
