BOSTON, MA – Freudenheim Partners is thrilled to announce that The Tot Café by The Little Cocoa Bean Co. will be opening a new location later this spring inside Boston Children’s Museum at 308 Congress Street. This exciting collaboration brings together two community-centered organizations with a shared mission: to enhance the lives of young children and their families through meaningful experiences, nourishment, and education.
The lease transaction was facilitated by Ellie Cullinan and Chris Rogers of Freudenheim Partners, who represented Boston Children’s Museum and worked to secure The Little Cocoa Bean Co. as the new tenant. The café will occupy 3,000 square feet within the Museum, offering a dynamic space for families to enjoy fresh, healthy food options in a welcoming environment tailored to both children and caregivers.
Founded in 2019 by Tracy Skelly, The Little Cocoa Bean Co. is a mission-driven, Black- and woman-owned social enterprise focused on early childhood nutrition, education, and community engagement. The company provides culturally diverse, ready-made baby and toddler foods inspired by global flavors and heritage ingredients. These meals are served in a chic, baby-friendly café setting designed to be inclusive, calming, and family-oriented, where both children and adults feel seen, supported, and nourished.
Beyond food, The Little Cocoa Bean Co. is deeply committed to supporting caregivers through education and outreach. The company hosts hands-on courses for families, teaching them to prepare nutritious meals using their own cultural heritage as inspiration. Their work emphasizes the critical importance of the first 1,000 days of a child’s life in building lifelong health and well-being.
“At The Little Cocoa Bean Co., we’re on a mission to transform family mealtimes into moments of nourishment, connection, and joy,” said Tracy Skelly, Founder & CEO of The Little Cocoa Bean Co. “We’re incredibly excited to bring the Tot Café to Boston Children’s Museum because it’s an institution that shares our commitment to enriching the lives of children and families. We’re grateful to Freudenheim Partners for helping us create a place that uplifts families and reflects the kind of community we all deserve. Together, we’re creating more than just a café. We’re building a space where caregivers feel supported, children feel celebrated, and community can truly thrive.”
“This was a truly special opportunity to bring together two organizations with aligned missions,” said Ellie Cullinan, Partner at Freudenheim Partners. “The Little Cocoa Bean Co. is a perfect fit for Boston Children’s Museum, and we’re excited to see the impact this new space will have on local families and visitors alike.”
The café’s presence inside the Museum will provide families with access not only to nourishing meals but also to a space that champions inclusion, celebrates cultural heritage, and supports the essential work of parenting. With its Tot Café and growing slate of community initiatives, The Little Cocoa Bean Co. continues to live out its values: honoring heritage, promoting health and love, championing diversity, and building the village that helps raise healthy children.
“We are grateful to Freudenheim Partners for the fantastic opportunity to partner with Tracy Skelly and Little Cocoa Bean. Ellie and Chris always provide us with strategic guidance that reflects our shared commitment to the Museum’s long-term growth, community impact, and mission-driven success,” said Carole Charnow, President & CEO. “We are so excited to welcome Tracy and introduce her wonderful company to our visitors and neighbors.”
