South Shore Habitat For Humanity Embarks on Affordable Housing Project in Hingham

HINGHAM–South Shore Habitat for Humanity has started the permitting process for two single-family affordable homes on Whiting Street. In collaboration with the Affordable Housing Trust and the Town of Hingham, South Shore Habitat for Humanity hopes to begin construction in the spring of 2019.

Martine Taylor, Executive Director at South Shore Habitat for Humanity, praised the impact this project will have on the community. “There is such a need for affordable housing in the Town of Hingham and we are so thrilled to provide this homeownership opportunity for two families…we encourage individuals and local businesses to get involved with the project as volunteers, financial contributors and ambassadors; helping us to spread the word,” engaged Taylor.

South Shore Habitat for Humanity has delivered quality housing in partnership with families in need for over 32 years. The non-profit organization is currently looking for individuals and corporations who are able to provide financial contributions and in-kind goods and services to the project to offset the cost of construction.
