Industry Veteran Edward Named President of CRE Advisory Firm PerryJanuary 08, 2019
BOSTON–Perry Brokerage Associates announced the appointment of 35-year real estate services veteran Michael S. Edward as President. Edward joined Perry in July 2016 as Executive Vice President and has played a key role in the expansion of the Perry platform.
“From the moment he joined the firm, Mike has been a critical component of Perry’s growth in brand recognition, personnel, and market share. As he assumes oversight of all aspects of its brokerage operations, we are excited for the future of Perry under Mike’s leadership,” remarked Richard Beal, President of A.W. Perry, Inc, which remains parent company of the unit.
Simultaneous with the January elevation of Edward, the firm implemented what it terms a “soft rebrand,” principally consisting of a naming simplification to Perry, from Perry Brokerage Associates, an identity it has had since its 2011 founding. The adjusted identity is intended to combine the company’s corporate lineage - one of the most well-respected in New England - with the ability to advise from the fullest set of contemporary options.
“It is humbling and exciting to be named President of Perry,” stated. “We have a highly talented and dedicated team of professionals who serve our clients’ needs. I look forward to supporting them as we grow our team and our platform in the coming years.”
In addition to his role as President, Edward will also Chair Perry’s Executive Team, which along with Mr. Beal and Executive Vice President Jonathan H. Gifford, provides strategic direction for the company.
Edward’s lengthy career has included positions at Newmark Knight Frank, Lincoln Property Company, and Colliers Meredith & Grew. A member of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board, he will serve as the Chair of GBREB’s Finance Committee in 2019 as well as serving on the Board of Directors of the Commercial Brokers Association. A licensed real estate broker in Massachusetts, Edward holds a degree in finance from Providence College.Michael Edward
